Lycopene in Processed Tomato Products

The best way to get Lycopene into the human body is through processed tomato products. Why? First of all, heating actually helps releases Lycopene from the tomato. Second of all, Lycopene is concentrated in processed tomato goods, for example, tomato paste has four times the quantity of Lycopene than a fresh tomato does. Thirdly, and probably most importantly, is that Lycopene is fat soluble... unless eaten with some sort of oil or fat, much of the ingested Lycopene passes through the body.
